On the 24th of June, 2018 at the Armani Hotel Towers, Dubai, Leading Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Infinix Mobility launched a breathtaking device, The Note 5. This is a sequel to the earlier version, The Note 4, which was released last year. A local launch was done at the Federal Palace Hotel on the 28th of June, 2018.
A lot of major improvements were done on the Note 5 starting from the body design to the finishing. The phone is a lot sleeker and slimmer than its predecessor. The back features a diamond fire design which makes the device have a shiny glossy look. Let me not forget to add that it’s a lot lighter than the Note 4.
Below are some of the things I observed upon using the device:
The Camera of the Note 5 is quite impressive. The 12mp rear camera is crispy clear and captures very detailed images. The front camera is remarkably upgraded. The Note 5 features a whopping 16mp! The front camera also features a bokeh mode to help enhance the quality of selfies taken. The camera also has a powerful dual at the back and single front flash that captures selfies in the dark.
The display of the Note 5 is a massive improvement from the processor. It features a 6-inch FHD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, 1080 x 2160 pixels with an infinity display to give you maximum view. The Note 5 also follows the cue and adopted the 18:9 screen ratio for the device. A Corning Gorilla 2.5D screen was used.
The Note 5’s design is top notch. The back of the device features a glossy diamond fire design which gives the device a cool look. A single tray holds the dual nano sim cards and the memory card. Also, the volume rocker, sim tray, and power button are all on one side while the speaker, microphone, charging port and head phone jack are all at the bottom of the device.
The battery of the device is one of the strong selling point. The Note 5 comes packed with a 4500mah battery. It also features flash charge which makes the phone not spend all day charging due to the large mAH. The Note 5 is also fully optimized to save battery and work longer. The battery is non-removable.
Hardware And Software
The Note 5 means business when it comes to its hardware and software components. The Note 5 comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM while the Pro version is rumored to come with 4GB RAM and 128GB ROM. The Note 5 comes with a Octa-core 2.0GHz MediaTek Helio P23 MT6763T processor which is known for optimal performance. The Note 5 does not come with a pen function, but rumor has it that the Pro version would.
Even though the phone was not designed expressly for gaming, the device faired very well in this aspect, this may be due to the processor and RAM strength. Heavy games tested on the device RAM smoothly without lagging and the device was able to minimize the games without closing it.
The Note 5 is a super multitasker! Giving the RAM size and the processor type, the device is able to effectively multitask without closing or restarting any of the tabs. The device does a very good at keeping tabs open even after a long time.
